I stole this idea from Dayle Timmons over at Curious Kindergarteners Who Became Fantastic First Graders!
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. My wordle was produced from words from my blog that appeared in my 2008 posts. It's quite interesting and very fun to look at!

Hi Katie,
I stumbled upon your blog and I love it! I am a first grade teacher and I love to read all sorts of children's books. I'm in the process of re-doing my children's lit blog. I had done one for a grad course I took and now I am expanding it and making it more accessible. I'll definitely keep reading your blog.
Love your wordle. Some of my friends do them once a month to see how they change. I've wondered if there is a way to use this in a lesson for children about main idea... I'm not sure exactly but if you look at the words that appear the strongest in your wordle, wouldn't say they describe the main of idea of what you're writing about? Now, how can I turn that into a mini-lesson to teach youngsters about main idea?
