World Animal Day

October 4th is World Animal Day. The goals of this day are to:

• Celebrate animal life in all its forms;
• Celebrate humankind’s relationship with the animal kingdom;
• Acknowledge the diverse roles that animals play in our lives – from being our companions, supporting and helping us, to bringing a sense of wonder into our lives; and
• Acknowledge and be thankful for the way in which animals enrich our lives.

To celebrate World Animal Day tomorrow, I have prepared thirteen posts, one per hour between 8am and 8pm EST. I encourage you to share these posts with your children and perhaps even check out some of the books that are mentioned! They are all very much worthy of the read! I am going to try and include activities for as many as the posts as possible, and definitely a coloring sheet for each animal mentioned, so your child(ren) can be involved in World Animal Day as well!
